Né en Guadeloupe en 1921, Guy Cornely s’engage en 1939 dans la Marine, avant d’entrer dans la dissidence. Comme des milliers de jeunes venus des Antilles, il participe à la libération de la France lors de la Seconde Guerre mondiale en prenant part au débarquement du 6 juin 1944 en Normandie, engagement pour lequel il ne fut récompensé officiellement qu’en 1994. Cornely décéda d’ailleurs en avril 2005 peu avant la fin du tournage du film documentaire d’Euzhan Palcy consacré aux dissidents antillais. A son retour en Guadeloupe, c’est à la flore et à la santé que Guy Cornely décide de consacrer la majorité de son temps. Travaillant à l’Institut Pasteur en Guadeloupe, il poursuit une importante carrière de chercheur en biologie et parasitologie, s’engageant notamment dans la lutte contre la bilharziose et les maladies frappant la population guadeloupéenne.
Défenseur de la négritude et de la sauvegarde des traditions afro-caribéennes, auteur de poèmes en langue créole, Cornely était avant tout un homme passionné de culture, un véritable érudit. Personnage aux facettes multiples, Cornely s’essaie...

Born in Guadeloupe in 1921, Guy Cornely joined the Navy in 1939, before entering political dissent. Like thousands of other young men from the Antilles, he took part in the liberation of France during the Second World War, landing on the shores of Normandy on June 6th, 1944, a mission he was only officially recognized for in 1994. Cornely died, in fact, in April 2005, just before the filming of a documentary by Euzhan Palcy dedicated to dissidents from the Antilles. Upon his return to Guadeloupe, it was to health that Guy Cornely decided to dedicate most of his time. Working at the Institut Pasteur in Guadeloupe, he pursued a major career as a researcher in biology and parasitology, committing himself in particular to the fight against bilharzia and the illnesses that often struck the Guadeloupean population.

L'EP s'ouvre sur un nouveau classique de Rocé, "Tenir Debout", un morceau essentiel, actuel mais pas à la mode.
La face A (tenir debout - spectacle permanent - poings serrés) s'apprécie sans fin, le fond reste toujours aussi incisif et la forme se bonnifie avec le temps.
La face B (cpitxlistes - han solo - jingle bells) est plus inattendue, on sent l'expérimentation.
Le livret accompagnant le disque ajoute une vrai richesse au propos général.
