Le Gabon fait partie des anciennes colonies françaises qui regorgent de ressources minières et naturelles : le pétrole, le bois, le manganèse, l’uranium… A l’approche de l’indépendance, les entreprises et les autorités françaises mettent tout en œuvre pour garder la mainmise sur le sol et le sous-sol, tandis qu’une partie de l’élite politique locale est conditionnée au point d’espérer pour le Gabon un statut de département français. En 1960, le Gabon fait donc partie des territoires sur lesquels la France maintient son emprise en soutenant le premier président Léon MBa, et en assurant l’installation de son successeur Omar Bongo. C’est dans ce pays-carrefour du système connu sous le nom de Françafrique que naît Pierre Akendengue.

Gabon is one of the former French colonies that abound in mineral and natural resources: oil, wood, manganese, uranium, and more. On the eve of independence, French companies and authorities did everything to maintain their hold on the earth and underground riches of this land, while part of the local political elite was conditioned even to the point of hoping that Gabon would become a French département. In 1960, Gabon was thus among the territories that France kept in its grip by supporting its first president, Léon M’Ba, and ensuring the induction of his successor Omar Bongo. It was in this country, a linchpin of the system known as “Françafrique”, that Pierre Akendengue was born.

L'EP s'ouvre sur un nouveau classique de Rocé, "Tenir Debout", un morceau essentiel, actuel mais pas à la mode.
La face A (tenir debout - spectacle permanent - poings serrés) s'apprécie sans fin, le fond reste toujours aussi incisif et la forme se bonnifie avec le temps.
La face B (cpitxlistes - han solo - jingle bells) est plus inattendue, on sent l'expérimentation.
Le livret accompagnant le disque ajoute une vrai richesse au propos général.
